SPFBO sale and a guest post! - Jon Auerbach

SPFBO sale and a guest post!

As I’ve mentioned before, Guild of Tokens is an entrant in the 5th Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off.

What is SPFBO?

It’s a year-long competition organized by fantasy author Mark Lawrence to help shine a light on independently published fantasy books.

10 book blogs are each assigned 30 books to assess in phase I, which culminates in the selection of 10 finalists. Those blogs will then read and rate all 10 finalists until a winner is chosen next spring!

Guild of Tokens has been assigned to Kitty G, who is a BookTuber. You can check out her Introduction video on her batch of books here to see what other books Guild of Tokens will be going up against, and I was also lucky enough to be one of the guests on Kitty’s liveshow a few weeks ago, where we talked all things SPFBO.

In honor of SPFBO, Guild of Tokens is part of a massive 99-cent sale along with over a hundred other past and present SPFBO entrants. You can check out the sale here (scroll down to urban fantasy to find Guild of Tokens). Some of my other recommendations in the sale include:

  • Fortune’s Fool (if you like epic Renaissance-inspired fantasies),
  • The Narrows & Under Ordshaw (if you like fantasy with a dash of horror),
  • Banebringer (if you like your fantasy mixed with mythology),
  • River of Thieves (if you like your fantasy seasoned with humor, also there’s pirates!),
  • Vultures (if you like dark fantasy),
  • The God King’s Legacy (if you like flintlock fantasy),
  • Sorcerous Rivalry (if you like sword & sorcery), and
  • The Sword of Kaigen (if you like military fantasy).

Also today, I’ve got a guest post up on Thoughts Stained With Ink, where I talk about how I plotted Guild of Tokens with a little help from LucasArts and Chrono Trigger. Thanks Nicole for hosting and be sure to add her to your blog follows, as Nicole is one of the 10 SPFBO judges and will revealing her SPFBO updates every Monday.
